Just as there are proven laws such as gravity that govern our physical world, there are also laws that govern our Universe. Many affect us.

Everything in the Universe, including us, emerged from and is still connected to and intertwined with the energy of the original creative source – embodied by a Oneness and often referred to as God, Source, Creator, etc. And there is a perfect divine plan – a creative principle – that holds it all together.
Based on this creative principle, invisible codes were set out at the creation of our cosmos. Throughout history, the sages who were guiding us gave us governing principles based on the Universal matrix’s invisible codes.

Some became known as the Universal Laws, Kingdom Principles, and Hermetic Laws. However, these laws and principles do not hold commands. They are about vibrations.
These laws are meant as guidelines to help us align our vibrations – through our thoughts, feelings, attitudes, and ways of being to that of our original creative source. The more aligned we are to Source the easier it is for us to become our Best Selves and reach our highest potentials – in form here on earth, as well as in assisting our soul’s journey into its next phase.
Micro and Macro Universal Principles of Form
On a macro level the Universal principles govern the creation and maintenance of all form: the planets, the stars, the galaxies, etc. – and hold it all in perfect divine balance.
On a micro level, Universal principles affect the subtler aspects the creations, like evolution, or the natural laws of the animal kingdom whereby the stronger survive. It is the subtler aspects of these governing principles that influences us.
It is in the understanding and application of the principles of the creation codes, like the Oneness paradigm and the Universal Laws that pertain to us, that help us to evolve – individually, collectively, and in conjunction with our Planet. They also help us to recognize our connection to the cosmos.
These Universal Laws and their principles influence our relationship to our self, to others, and to the part of us that still holds the link to our creative source (higher Self, God, Source, Creator, Spirit, Holy Spirit – whatever we feel comfortable calling that connection.

Universal Law and Our Past History
Universal Law and its principles have been passed on to us throughout history – through numerous holy people, in many ways, and in various forms. Through their gods, teachers, and philosophers the ancients attempted to explain the laws and principles that pertain to creation, the cosmos, and our link to them.
They also attempted to explain the subtler aspects of the creative principle – as they relate to us. Based on these principles, texts were written that influenced many of the religions and thought-systems of the day.
In his investigation regarding human consciousness and religion, Stanislav Grof tells us in The Holotropic Mind: The Three Levels of Human Consciousness and How They Shape Our Lives that this creative principle, or cosmic consciousness, that has been written about in many ancient religious scriptures is known by different names: “Brahman in Hinduism, Dharmkaya in Mahayana Buddhism, the Tao in Taoism, Pneuma in Christian mysticism, Allah in Sufism, and Kether in the Kabbalah.”(1)
One of the much-revered spiritual teachers of the ancient Egyptians was Thoth Hermes Trismegistus, who they later declared to be their god Thoth. From his teachings emerged the Hermetic Laws.
Later on, the Greeks were so impressed with Thoth and his teachings that they took on the principles of the Hermetic Laws and named him their god Hermes. It is widely believed that Thoth and these laws and principles influenced many other writings and spiritual communities such as the Sumerians, the Buddhists, ancient Judaism, and Christianity.
Many of these writings made their way into religious and spiritual texts we still use today. However, we have to make the distinction between the Universal Laws and the religious rules we are to live by, such as the 613 rules of Judaism.
Universal Laws (Kingdom Principles, Hermetic Laws, etc.) are esoteric in nature.
They are over-arching principles of how the Universe works – just like gravity is a scientific principle on earth.
Nonetheless, it is evident that many of the rules to live by in the various religions have some basis in Universal Law.
We Are Creative Consciousness
In his same book, Grof also tells us that when physicists explored the micro world, they concluded that what “appears to be made up of solid objects” is actually an interweaving “complex web of unified events and relationships.” He says that we can then conclude that “consciousness does not just passively reflect the material world; it plays an active role in creating reality itself” (2).
Everything in the Universe is vibration and in a constant state of flux, and so everything – including us is – always being influenced by these governing principles – whether we are aware of it or not. And because everything holds a consciousness, outcomes can be directed.
We now understand the connection between scientific findings like quantum physics and spiritual concepts like the Law of Attraction’s premise that “we create our own realities.” Outcomes in the natural world and individual outcomes can be consciously altered.

Grof’s findings also show that the message is the same across all the religions he investigated – that not only can we connect with the creative principle, but in a sense, we are the creative principle. He says that being able to connect to and become this creative consciousness is a logical extension when we look at the boundaries found within the physical universe.
Grof relates this to quantum principles, because it shows us that physical boundaries are arbitrary, illusory, and can therefore be transcended. He explains that in our enlightenment moments we transcend these boundaries and experience the cosmic consciousness. (I further discuss these and other scientific principles as they relate to us in chapter 7, Science).
Universal Law and the Planes of Existence
Universal Law and its principles apply to, link, and govern the various planes of existence – the physical, the mental, and the spiritual. Everything in the physical plane is either in a phase of growth, or decay. The mental plane, or consciousness, is either in a state of thinking, planning, or creating – whether through the individual or the collective mind.
The spiritual plane embodies the All – the Oneness: it sees the big picture. Our higher Self resides on this spiritual plane. This is why it is always encouraging us to understand the big picture and to embrace attitudes that align with the qualities of Oneness.
Even though we and our bodies are on the physical plane, aligning with the Universal Laws allows us to access the spiritual plane – and all that it embodies.
When our vibrations are aligned with the principles of the Universal Laws,
they are in harmony with those of the universal creative force
and we can tap into its unconditional love and the power it holds.
Being positive, joyful, having hope, having an open heart, and being fearless are some of the qualities that align us with universal flow. So do all aspects of love and anything that upholds harmony and aims to unite.
When we are being negative, closed off, angry, judgmental, despondent, or pessimistic etc., we are distanced from universal flow, and by default we are stuck within the restrictions of our human limitations. Our power-base is weak and unconditional love is almost inaccessible.
The higher and more aligned our vibrations are to the universal codes of creation the more we can experience the expanded consciousness within it.
Many Universal Laws from Many Sources
Over time, many, many concepts have been deemed Universal Laws. Many overlap. For example, in my book I put forth the Law of Cause and Effect, which I based on concepts in A Course in Miracles.
I recently discovered that it is also deemed one of the ancient Hermetic Laws. The idea is basically the same: for every cause, there is an effect. This law advises us to become aware of the effects our thoughts, attitudes, and behaviors have on ourselves, and on others.
In her book, The Great Awakening, and through her channelings with Sanat Kumara Linda Dillon gives us 13 Universal Laws, some of which are The Law of Sacred Purpose, the Law of Give and Receive, and the Law of Within and Without – which is also a Hermetic Law.

All the Universal Laws of the past and present have value, hold truth, and offer us good guidelines. Following their principles helps us align to Source. Some could be considered subsets of others.
The reason for so many, and for such a variety, is that they were written at a certain time, for a certain audience, and with a specific purpose.
Although Linda Dillon and I hold many of the same philosophies and beliefs, the Universal Laws I put forth in my book are different from those she gives us.
Although they all aim to guide us to raise our vibration and many point to similar concepts to live by, our audiences are different and the context and purpose we have for them have a slightly different slant.
Here is a small summary of the Universal Laws from chapter 2 Universal Laws / Kingdom Principles.
First, the Law of Openness denotes that we have to be in a state of receptivity to be able to access the love, joy, sense of empowerment and other gifts available to us from the Universe.
Second, the Law of Authenticity indicates that we need to come from an honest place within ourselves. We must understand where our motivations come from.
Third, the well-known Law of Attraction confirms that we are vibration and maintains the principles that “like attracts like” and “we are the creator of our own realities.”
Fourth, the Law of Cause and Effect clarifies that we are the cause of our experiences, not at the effect of the world around us.
Fifth, the Law of Balance suggests that we should strive to live in a way that promotes a sense of equilibrium in our lives and harmony in our beings. To become balanced, we also have to make peace with all parts of ourselves as well as the world around us.
And finally, the Law of Expansion comes into play in our lives once the other laws are well integrated into our beings, whereby the exponential function allows us to take a sharp upward turn and expand into all that we can be.
