Self-honesty / Honesty With Others

We hear a lot about the importance of being honest with others, but most of us don’t realize that being honest with ourselves is what allows us to be honest with others.

When we are honest with ourselves – in touch with and accepting of our feelings we can afford to be honest with others. We are not in denial of our emotions; not fearful others will discover something we don’t want to share or discuss. Our hearts are clear and open. We are able to have intimate conversations with people. To speak our truth. Confident enough to explain where we are coming from, and why. To “bare our souls,” if appropriate.
