Spreading ‘Joie de Vivre’

“’Joie de Vivre” is contagious.” I just listened to a podcast by Linda Dillon (author of The Great Awakening) where she discussed the importance of taking time to regenerate ourselves and find our “joie de vivre,” which inspired me to share these thoughts with you.

Even though Doing gets things done and we feel satisfied, taking the time to tap into Inner-Peace and Joy raises us to a Higher Plane of Consciousness. It is in these higher states that Inspiration is Birthed.

And it is Inspired Thoughts that Motivate Us to make Better Choices for Ourselves – and For the World around us.

In this busy day and age where every moment seems to be filled with to-do’s and stress seems to overshadow all we do – it is important to Really find Alone and Quiet time.

Quiet time that Rejuvenates Us and Connects us to Inner-Peace and allows us Tap into Joy and its sense of “joie de vivre.”

As well as inspired by Linda’s podcast, this blog post is based on concepts in my book, “Your Journey to Peace …”

About Book found here  (available in print and e-book).

Most of us have lost these connections – or at least have trouble sustaining them for more than a few moments. There are many reasons. Here are a few:

  • Many of us feel inclined to take in every aspect modern living offers us – often to the point of feeling scattered and stressed.
  • In our sincere desire to be helpful to others or to help bring about a better world we often overextend ourselves – and are left feeling drained, joyless, and sometimes even resentful.
  • And even our attempts for relaxation can be fraught with stress. We may drive to a Day Spa or fun event and get stuck in traffic or bad weather coming home negating most of the good feelings.
  • Our weekend getaways, annual vacations, and out of country travelling we so depend on to rejuvenate us often go awry, as the hitches in travel plans and unexpected surprises of the new environments bring with them stress and/or disappointment, which are not conducive to returning rejuvenated.

As well as meditation, prayer, yoga and the many common ways of connecting to Spirit and our God-selves, here are a few of the simple things we can do that help reawaken the Inner-Peace and Joy within us, allowing that contagious “joie de vivre” to pulse through us.

Spreading ‘Joie de Vivre’

  • Listening to our favorite music.
  • Sitting under a tree or on your favorite park bench – doing absolutely nothing.
  • Watching the sun glistening off the snow.
  • Sitting on the porch just staring at the scene in front of us.
  • Gazing at the stars.
  • Watching / listening to the waves.
  • Watching the sun glistening off the water.
  • Enjoying the pristine new fallen snow: how it so beautifully lazes on the trees.
  • And simply finding a quiet spot, closing our eyes, tuning out the world, and listening to our breathing brings us to that quiet place where peaceful feelings abide.

Finding Alone and Quiet time and staying in that place until Peace and Joy arise in us – and Reveling in the feelings that come about until it almost hurts – until Joy is Bursting Out of Us – is how we will find Sustainable Inner-Peace. Where we can Tap into Joy. Where our “joie de vivre” can become contagious because it is just oozing out of us.

Newsletter – January 2019 – Subtle Resolutions

Subtle Resolutions We Can Make

The beginning of each year brings with it hope. New possibilities. And often resolutions. As we are now a few weeks into 2019, many of our New Years resolutions may have fallen by the wayside. However, we can still aim to better ourselves in more subtle ways.

Most resolutions focus on “doing” or “not doing” – on behaviors. And as important as it is to become conscious and improve behaviors that may not be serving us, we can gain more clarity, increase our happiness and peace of mind, and improve our relationships with simple attitude shifts. We can:

Become More Positive: Our whole outlook on life will shift. A more positive attitude will invite more positive people and circumstances into our life.

When we replace anger and negative attitudes with calmness, acceptance, and more positive attitudes we feel more peaceful. And our relationships will start to improve.

Being positive allows for more openness, and openness allows for better communication, which improves and creates more harmonious relationships.

Become More Accepting of Others: As we become more accepting of others, we benefit by clearing our mind of its judgments. A clearer mind allows for more clarity regarding our path forward, and allows us to focus on more life-affirming aspects of living.

And our subconscious translates this acceptance of others as being more accepting of ourselves, helping us to overcome any self-deprecation of not being perfect.

Making Peace with Situations: We have all experienced difficult and/or unfair situations. It is only in making peace with tough situations and giving up the focus on them that we open ourselves up to better ones. Our past and society has taught us to blame, to keep the drama of it all going, and even to seek  revenge.

These attitudes only keep the negativity of situations alive within us. Letting go of the thoughts, details, and scenarios of past or current situations we don’t like and replacing them with the thoughts and dreams of what we would like to happen in our life now is what will make room in our energetic being for better circumstances to enter our life.

Below is information on my newly released Book 1, Why We Are the Way We Are,

of  my new ‘Our Journeys to Peace’ Series.

Forgiving Others – Forgiving Ourselves: We have all only ever done our best within our level of awareness. Society has only recently acknowledged that compassion, understanding, equality, fairness, and acceptance are qualities that we need to adhere to become happy and contended people.

And our current spiritual awareness has shown us that happiness and contentment is our God-given right. Most of our individual pasts did not support these qualities, nor promote happiness. Neither did Humanity’s history.

It takes time to overcome our personal and collective programming. It takes understanding to forgive others for their past or present shortcomings of positive and life-affirming attitudes and behaviors.

And it takes courage to look at and forgive our past attitudes and behaviors that did not reflect what we now know we must all embrace.

So, as we all attempt to adopt these newfound ways of being and navigate the world differently, let’s remember we are all just doing our best to shift and overcome our past programming – and that we will all still falter from time to time.

Let’s remember to continue to forgive others – and ourselves when we forget to be the loving, accepting, and positive beings we were all meant to be, who are able to create harmony in our lives, and are able to feel inner peace and just BE.

As we continue to embrace all that 2019 brings with it, let’s keep the hope alive, do our best to better ourselves in whichever way is important to us, and forgive our self, and others, when we forget to be hopeful, positive, accepting, and loving.

My Best Wishes to All of You and Your Loved Ones for a Happy, Healthy, Life-affirming, and Safe 2019,

Ensuring a Lightness of Being – Part 2/2

(Link to part 1 is below)

We now know that negative thought patterns and the attitudes these engender create disharmony into our life. That inflexibility and outdated ideals limit our perspectives, and deter us from becoming our Best Self.

Consciously choosing to shift any attitudes, behaviors, or beliefs that work against our personal success and spiritual growth can only benefit us, and helps to create a lightness of being.

When we adopt more positive thoughts not only do we experience more peace in the moment, but we also invite more positive circumstances into our life by the Law of Attraction.

And when we shift negative attitudes and behaviors and become open to new ways of looking at others and life, these newfound ways of being also pave the way for us to improve our relationships and generally feel more peace, joy, and harmony in our lives.

Choosing to shift any attitudes, behaviors, or beliefs requires that we becoming conscious. And becoming conscious requires that we become Mindful. Of ourselves. And towards others.

We are unaware that we have been under the influence of unconscious authority and that the separation we feel toward our power base, and each other, is an illusion. We have gone about life mindless to the effects of these false premises.

Part of ensuring we maintain a lightness of being is ensuring we are mindful, as being mindless creates a heaviness in our energetic being.

This blog article is created from excepts in my new book Why We Are the Was We Are, which has just become available through Amazon (in print and e-book).

See here for About Book (You will be directed to my other site, but there is a link there to return to this blog).

Mindlessness vs Mindfulness

When we operate from a mindless state we act impulsively, foolishly, or single-mindedly, often blind to other possibilities and the effects our decisions will have on our ultimate happiness, or on others.

Conversely, if we are mindful when making decisions or taking action we are not in denial of the reasons for our desires or choices, and we consider their effects on others. We instinctively maintain harmony in situations.

I will discuss mindfulness and mindlessness more thoroughly in next week’s blog post. You can access by following my Facebook page here
